Shaymin

This is my half of an art trade with ! I am super pleased with this little guy. He is almost lifesize at a little over 7" tall and 10" long. I used three types of minky to add contrast between the body, the hedge, and the foliage. He has machine embroidered eyes, hand embroidered lashes, mouth, and toes, a plastic safety nose, and a thread sculpted face. I used glitter paint to add some pop to the flowers and the hedge. The hedge itself consists of a bottom layer covered with little lumps hand sewing in to achieve a grassy texture. A light dusting of yellow sparkles has been applied to the hedge to add contrast. Though shaymin's pattern was not similar to anything I had drafted before, especially since the head and body are all one piece that is pulled together by a second different fabric, I think he came out splendidly and looks great from multiple angles.
